The SIAA concept
started in 1983 with the creation of Satellite Agency
Network Group, Inc (SAN). SAN was
formed for the purpose of assisting locally owned and
operated agencies
gain access to insurance carriers and get benefits that
were only available to large agencies. SAN is dedicated
to the creation,
growth and retention of the local independent agency.
SIAA was formed in 1994 to bring the SAN concept to the
national level.
BGI Agency Network joined SIAA in 2000 after
our president, Ken Wiltse, saw how many independent agents
were being
forced
to close down because they couldn’t get or maintain company
appointments. He saw BGI Agency Network and SIAA as on opportunity
to help give back to an industry that has been so good to him.
During our first 5 years in business we grew to almost 20 member
agencies and received appointments from over 15 major carriers.
We continue to grow and look forward to giving a helping hand
to the independent agent for years to come.
